The Secret to My Success is Simple

Today I have an important message for you about thinking ahead, and growing your business from this point forward.

As you know, today marks the day of the second half of the year.

Have you accomplished any of the goals and “new year’s resolution” you had planned at the beginning of this year?

If you’re seeing no progress then obviously you’re doing something wrong. But hey, I admit that I haven’t accomplished some of the goals I had planned.

I remember when I was struggling with this whole Internet business thing. I remember wanting someone to just “rescue” me and basically hand me everything I needed to know…

Little did I know, there’s no “magic pill” to a successful Internet busines.

The so called “gurus” can tell you exactly what you need to do, but at the end of the day it’s about you. It’s how well you can implement what they had taught.

It’s like having the latest and greatest gadget that saves a ton of time to automate some sort of manual task. If you don’t use it properly or don’t, know how to use it then this gadget is pretty much useless to you.

I get a lot of readers asking me what my secret is to building a successful six-figure Internet business. Want to know the answer?

You won’t be surprised or shocked when I reveal this secret to you. In fact, you’ll probably be mad at me for telling you this, but I gotta be brutally honest with you here.

The secret is — Your mindset.

Your attitude, your beliefs, your inner-self…it’s all part of your mindset.

I’m a big believer in faith. If you’ve read ‘Think & Grow Rich’ by Napoleon Hill, then you’d know what I’m talking about. It dedicates an entire chapter just on Faith.

It was the first book on self-help I read, and I’m so thankful for that.

Here’s a quote I like to keep around:

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase” —  Martin Luther King Jr.

Doesn’t it make sense if you simply put your mind into it, you’ll attract what you ultimately want in the end? I know it sounds cliche, but that’s the truth.

When I created my first ever successful website, I had no idea how I was going to do it, I didn’t know where to get the resources, I didn’t know who to talk to but some how I managed to attract over $15,000 in sales in 48 hrs from this site.

What had happened was greater than what I had expected…

* The site reached 507 on the Alexa ranking, so only 506 other sites in the world had more traffic during that time.

* I managed to generate over 6,000 new members in just 48 hours. That’s 6000 members I never would have had, had I not launched this site.

* I had top Internet marketers approaching me for a JV.

I couldn’t believe it. From just a small idea I had which I had no clue on how I was going to do it, to a five-figure launch. And this isn’t my way of bragging or boasting. I just wanted to share my story with you.

What I did have was a BURNINIG DESIRE. All I knew was that I wanted to make this website a success.

It became such a burning desire that I couldn’t sleep at night. I burned the bridges so that I could not walk back but move forward.

All that was needed was taking the first step. The first step is DECIDING on what you want.

Once you’ve decided EXACTLY what you want, the next few steps will natually flow from there. It’s as if you’re a magnet. Magic starts to happen. You will find ways of getting things done. You will find the right people to help you. You will overcome any problems you encounter.

This quote may sound familiar to you: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”

And it’s so true.

So here’s the bottom line – the next time you’re faced with the latest hype out there, be sure you’ve set your goals and priorities right first.

If you haven’t done this, be sure to check out my video that shows you how to use the “ABCDE” method for goal setting:  http://aureliustjin.com/the-abcde-method

What is it do you wanna do? eBay? Flipping sites? Niche marketing? Blogging? There are many paths you can take, and there’s nothing entirely wrong with any of these methods.

The best thing to do is to focus on ONE system.

Work the system, exhaust it until you’ve proven to yourself that it either works or doesn’t work for you. If it’s something that works, then keep doing it and doing it and doing it and doing it, until it doesn’t work anymore.

That’s exactly what I did to create my first ever successful website. I focused on just one system every step of the way until I saw results.

You might be sitting there and saying “Yea, I already know all this stuff”. I know you might be aware, and I’m not trying to insult your intelligence. I just hope I’ve at least reminded you of the importance of what I had shared in this message.

It may be green to some and it may be old to some. My goal in life is to help as many peopole as I can to shortcut their success, so they don’t have to go through as many of the mistakes others and I have.

You still got the rest of this year to reach those goals you’ve set. So what are you waiting for?

Your life is purely determined by what you decide to do RIGHT NOW. Hey, we can’t predict the future, but we can control what we decide to do next.

No one controls how you want to live your life. It doesn’t matter if you’re not getting any support.

It doesn’t matter if you fail the first time, because failure just leads you even closer to your goals.

It doesn’t matter if people are being negative about what you do. I’ve been through all that, and I overcame all the obstacles.

It doesn’t matter if your can’t get things perfect…there’s no such thing as perfect. You don’t have to get it perfect, you just have to get it going.

Get up and go do it.

Much respect for you if you decide to take action right now!

For now, be sure to check out my other blog post entitled “17 Things I Wish I Had Known When I Started My Online Business“. It will surely short-cut your success.

    Hi Aurelius,

It is a great post, I share your point of view.

The point is that some people don’t achieve anything because they don’t do the things that have to be done.

There are too many distractions – Twitter, Myspace, Facebook, emails, etc, that don’t let you get closer to your goal.

There are things that you have to do if you want to achieve something so don’t let other things distract you…

Here is a simple method you can use:

    1. Set your main goal

    2. Break it down into small goals

    3. Figure out how you are going to achieve them

    4. Prioritize them

5 Start working on the first one

You have to create the habit of doing first things first so, that you don’t move on until the most important thing in your list is done.

For example, if you don’t have a website it doesn’t make sense to work on traffic generation because you’ll be burning that traffic. You have to work on creating your website.

    Thanks,
    ^PV Reymond

    Great post Aurelius,

Agree with you 100%. Mindset is so important yet it is forgotten and not nurtured by many.

I believe the success I’ve had in Internet marketing in the first 6 months of the year has been the direct result of mindset.

    80% of success is mindset.

Spending a couple of minutes or hours a day on personal development ie training the mind and adopting the right mindset is absolutely vital too

    keep the posts coming aurelius!

    Thanks, Martin. Appreciate your comments.

80% is about right. The rest is your system, management, marketing, accounting etc

Seems like this blog post isn’t getting much response. It’s either because Wednesdays aren’t the best time to post or my post didn’t impact many people.

I’d like to read your comments. It’s what keeps this blog going. So please feel free to leave your messages.

    Hi Aurelius,

Yes, I totally agree with you. Right MINDSET is the key to success.

MINDSET will determine kind of THOUGHTS we have.
THOUGHS will determine kind of ACTIONS we take.
ACTIONS will determine kind of RESULTS we get.

In short, we need to have the right MINDSET if want to make money online and succeed online.

Sometimes, I wonder why 2 different people can have totally different result even though they attend the same training. It’s probably because they have different mindsets.

In short, we must have the right MINDSET if we want to make money online and succeed online.

    Hi,
Well said Aurelius. I decided to make money online back in January
kinda a new years resolution and find it very hard to stay focused on the goal at hand. I have found taking little steps and mapping my progress really helps.
I have been a fan of yours from the beginning and love your PLR products. I have done quite well with the self help one you offered a couple weeks back. Keep up the great “actually useful” content and I look forward to your next post.

    Thanks Travis

Nice post Aurelius, it all boils down to numbers too. For a beginner to reach success quicker, my formula is to start building a list by launching a product, start networking with JV partners to build your list even bigger, monetize it, launch more products with other bigger JV partners and rinse and repeat.

@ Travis – Yes, small achievable steps will help you get to your goals a lot faster…but don’t forget to give yourself a pat on the back and celebrate your achievements :)

@ Terrance – Yes, but someone who doesn’t have the right attitude wouldn’t be able to even take the first.

    Thanks Moataz.

    Hi Aurelius;

No doubt, youhave discovered the secret Napolean Hill speaks of in TAGR.

I totally agree Mindset is everything! You must develop the sink the ship attitude to win at anything you do in life.

I first attempted to read TAGR many years ago when I was in college. It did’nt make sense then. But things will appear when you’re ready. I read TAGR again last year and it made perfect sense this time around.

So much, in fact, that it’s the basis of my newsletter and Tweets. Plus I’m doing a spin on the book to bring it up to date without changing any of the original universal message.

I’ll send you a copy when I’m finished soon.

Thanks for sharing the message. What’s not to like?

In the past month I’ve walked in various paths in the IM industry, and slowly I started to see what works for me, and what doesn’t.
Now I’m focusing all my energy only on the things that work for me, and I see great results.

B.T.W With the help of your PLR’s I mangaed to build a list that keeps on growing every day.

    Good post Aurelius…

We can make or break our success without the help of others.
I believe that we must have a good vision for the future. When we can see ourselves as successful then it is much easier to become successful.
When we can visualize doing a certain thing, then doing it becomes a bit easier.
But this comes in measured steps. One small success then another…
Thanks again for the post and good work!

I agree that the Quotes Vision Board is necessary. I will set one up today. This was timely advice for me.

That is the secret, or strategy I should say, it’s the same strategy I use. If you want to make it, you have to take it and make your name for yourself, doing this by launching your own products, which inturn building your list, which inturn build your reach and joint venture partners, while building your credibility and expert by association, then you rinse and repeat, you can’t go wrong.
