How To Put Video On Your Website In 3 Easy Steps
| Videos | by Aurelius Tjin | Add comments |
Video is increasingly becoming one of the best ways to deliver a message across in a more understandable fashion.
If you’re marketing online then video is a must. It helps you build credibility and trust instantly because the viewer can see and relate to you.
To put video on your site, there’s three core steps to take.
Here they are…
Step 1. Determine what type of video you want to create
There are several different types of videos you can put on your website. You can put:
Video Tutorials - a recording of your screen.
Video from your camera or webcam.
Step 2. Recording your video
If you’re recording a video tutorial, I highly recommend you get Camtasia Studio at Techsmith.com. The price may be steep but it is like real gold in the long-run. If you’re looking for a more affordable software program that’s similar to the $300 Camtasia Studio software, grab yourself a copy of CamStudio which is free online at http://www.camstudio.org/
If you’re recording using your camera then you should know how to do that already.
If you’re recording using your webcam, you normally get a program which records for you. If you’re wondering how I record myself in my home office, I use a webcam. A very good one that is. I bought the Logitech “Quickcam Sphere”. I bought it from a local computer store for about $120. For a webcam, this webcam produces really high quality video.
Tips:
- If you’re recording with your camera/webcam, make sure you’re in a well lit area.
- For video tutorials - make sure you use a quality microphone. I had nightmares with $10 microphones.
- If you’re marketing, add “titles” and “callouts” to emphasise something like a website address.
Step 3. Put your video on your website
OK. Here’s the fun part. Embedding your video on your site so people can watch it.
If you’ve recorded a video tutorial using Camtasia or Camstudio, the program will provide the code you need to put on your site.
If you recorded a video using your camera or webcam, here’s the magic tool to put it on your site….
It’s called EasyWebVideo. You can grab it here:
http://www.aureliustjin.com/easywebvideo.htm
I use this and thousands of others use it too.
It’s easy to use, like the title says. Just open the video, convert it to make it smaller in size and copy and paste the provided code to your site.Â
Your viewers will then be able to watch your video.
What I like about EasyWebVideo is that you can set “redirect” links after the video finishes. Which means after the video finishes, you can direct them to whatever website you want them to go. This is really powerful if you want to sell something after your video.
Another cool addition to EasyWebVideo is that get different “Player Skins” so you can change the way it looks.
If you’re doing anything online then I urge you to get yourself EasyWebVideo at http://www.aureliustjin.com/easywebvideo.htm
Once you’ve uploaded your videos, make sure you test and see if it plays on your actual webpage.
You may then share your videos with everyone!
I hope that’s helped you, whether you want to use video or deciding to use video on your site.
To your web video success,
Aurelius Tjin
